Prophecy of the Flame Book Review

In a blinding flash of light, five nondescript strangers are yanked from this world and thrust into a land of sorcery as they are granted the looks and abilities of the people they were playing. This band of wannabe heroes soon discovers that having the powers they have always dreamed of, does not make life a dream come true. The Crusaders of the Light struggle to form a cohesive band as they blend twentieth century technology with the supernatural powers of this new world, fighting to liberate the kingdom of Cuthburan from the evil horde threatening humanity.

Battle is also waged within Reba, an ordinary housewife who has become the most powerful mage on the planet, as she struggles to remain true to her wedding vows. Drawn against her will to the arms of Prince Alexandros, Reba must choose between a marriage to a handsome prince in a magical world or returning to the husband she left behind.

When I first started reading Prophecy of the Flame by Lynn Hardy, I was a little too excited. I LOVE books and movies where people get pulled from their own dimension into another. I literally fall into the story and can’t wait to hear how the dimensions are different and what cool ‘alien’ or ‘foreign’ characters they meet.  Lynn Hardy put a new spin on it however by making her characters turn into the people they were playing in a role play game. I like how Rebecca was bored with the whole thing but then turns out to be the most important character in the book. I absolutely adore the amount of detail given to the surroundings and the characters Archmage Reba and the Crusaders of the Light meet. And I think it is really cute that the characters get the looks and powers of the people they were playing in the role play game. I bet they were glad they took their characters seriously and didn’t just make up something on the spot!

I would guess my favorite aspect of the book is Reba’s compassion and willingness to do what needs to be done. I won’t give anything away but there are several scenes that even the other characters are surprised at the choices she makes. It makes me anxious for the next book and what choice Reba will make about her new crazy love life. When I was just a few pages from the end, I was literally on the edge of my seat thinking it cant be over! Something big is happening (Not telling), you can’t end it there! You get lots of hints in the book that leave you waiting for more and in my opinion, that is what books should do. I will say that I am not a fan of books told in the first person but it wasn’t too bad in this book.

It is a fun and cute read. It was almost a perfect length as well. There is lots of action for those that like that type of book and some romance for the others. Every sale of the book goes to charity. That is amazing to me! And this book is being made into a MOVIE!!!All the proceeds from the movie will go to charity as well. You can find out more about it at Lynn Hardy’s website. You can also see more about the book and movie by following on the Prophecy of the Flame Facebook and Twitter sites.

You can buy the Prophecy of the Flame on Kindle, and Paperback Remember you are helping Charity too! Give to KickStarter Hollywood Helps Homeless Families Event .

You can also enter to win a Kindle in the Prophecy of the Flame Kindle Giveaway until April 10th.

Check the book out if you haven’t already and leave me a comment about what you liked. If you have read the book, who do you think should play the main stars in the movie (Lynn Hardy mentioned Chris Hemsworth, if he is there, I will def be there)? What do you hope they don’t leave out in the movie?
