My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Review – Interview with Justin Briner & Clifford Chapin

To celebrate the release of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, I was given the awesome chance to chat with the English speaking stars of the show,  Justin Briner, voice of Deku, and Clifford Chapin, voice of Bakugo.

I know that I often talk about my best friend on here. She is my soul twin and we usually like the same things. However, I have never been a huge fan of anime. I like Priest, Speed Grapher, Tokyo Ghoul, and a couple more but I never really gave any others a shot. She had been telling me all about My Hero Academia for a long time and I was like nooo, I don’t need a new fandom! Well, I gave in to her just like I did when she discovered Teen Wolf. I love it so much. Its such a great show that I started reading the manga as well. I love it more than my kids. I am thinking of getting a Bakugo tattoo.

When My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising came out in theaters, Twitter was exploding and I was so anxious to watch it myself. I needed it in my life and I was given the chance to review it early last month. It is so GOOD! So much action. There was some anxious bits about being in the hospital, death, injuries, and some on bullying so I wasn’t sure if my 7 year old could handle it but she was just as excited as I was.

Interview With Justin Briner & Clifford Chapin

I was very excited about my interview with Justin Briner who voices Deku (Izuku Midoriya) and Clifford Chapin who voices Bakugo (Katsuki Bakugo). They are two of the main characters and I knew it would be such a fun interview. I asked on my social channels what questions you all would like me to ask them and you came through with some great ones!

I asked them about cosplaying as their characters and they both said no. Justin Briner very kindly said he would leave that to the awesome cosplayers with their talents.

I also asked them about keeping up with the manga. Justin said he does somewhat but Clifford likes to be surprised when he get his scripts for the next season. They both say that they love meeting up with their cast mates because most voice actor work is solitary but its always fun to see each other and hang out.

Check out the rest of my awkward video above! This was my first Zoom interview so I was very nervous. And check out My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising soon! Its an amazing addition to the MHA family.

  1. It was so cool to see the voice actors and find out info about them. My kids were glued to the interview the whole time! They love Deku!
