THRIVE healthy low fat Banana-Pineapple Smoothie

I love a good smoothie- not too sweet, not too tart, something light and refreshing but that will keep me full and satisfied until my next meal. I did a lot of experimentation with smoothies over the hot, hot summer with my THRIVE shake powder and came up with some really amazing recipes that will keep me energized and satisfied and hit that YUM factor is always looking for. I discovered that fully ripe, frozen bananas do incredible things for smoothies no matter what else you use- they give each smoothie a rich, creamy taste without adding fat or extra sweeteners. And THRIVE shake powder really helps satisfy my chocolate cravings- the two of them together really punch my smoothies up to the next level!

THRIVE  shake powder has become a great way for me to get a healthy pick-me-up (or in some cases, a get-me-started) that will liven me up without making me jittery or giving me sugar crashes. It’s so much healthier than downing a sugary, fat-laden latte or reaching for an over-caffeinated soda. And when used in a fruit filled smoothie, it is a great way to get extra fiber and nutrients into my diet while feeling like I’m really treating myself.

This is my favorite smoothie. It’s fast and easy and will keep me full so it’s great as a meal replacement.

2 very ripe, frozen bananas
2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
1 serving THRIVE  shake powder
Healthy sprinkle of cinnamon (more or less as desired)
1 cup water
A few ice cubes

Add all ingredients to blender and blend thoroughly
Serve in a wide-mouth Mason jar and enjoy!

This smoothie is so easy and delicious. The bananas make it so creamy and the cinnamon and chocolate really heighten the taste of the pineapple. This fills a large Mason jar (you can get 12 mason jar cups with handles for just $21 on amazon)  and will keep me full for hours. And it’s very reasonable in terms of calories- two cups of frozen pineapple are 150 calories, and the bananas are 100 calories each. The thrive powder adds about 110. That’s a whole lowfat meal for just 460 calories! Easy, delicious, AND healthy, that’s my idea of a smoothie!

  1. Wouldn’t the calories add up to 460 since the bananas are 100 each? 150 pineapple, 200 banana, 110 thrive?

  2. thank you… that sounds good! I have been drinking a smoothie every morning for breakfast and I have been looking for new ideas to switch it up so I don’t get bored.

  3. I never heard of Thrive before I’ve been trying different protein powders and drinks – this smoothie looks good! I’d like to try it!

  4. I haven’t tried adding protein powder to my shakes. I think shakes are a great way to keep you feeling full.
