I was provided with an expense paid trip for the #Incredibles2Event in exchange for my review of the events we experienced during the trip including talking with the Parks Team about Pixar Fest. No other compensation was given. All opinions are my own.
Pixar Fest kicks off April 13th and goes through September 3rd. This first year is going to be out of this world with epic proportions of fun! And I wanted to talk about the things you do not need to miss at Pixar Fest, most notably the food and the fireworks! We had a chance to sit down with the Pixar team that brings the ultimate love of Pixar to the parks and I have to say that they have done a fantastic job. Also, can I get a job with them? Because wow. Who wouldn’t want to do that? Meghan from JaMonkey made a great video of our experience talking with the Parks Team.
Now the first thing you absolutely cannot miss is the food. Yes, the food. That is my favorite take away from any conversation and I had the best time listening to the Parks team talk about how great the food is. I am just going to share a bunch of photos and drool at work.
Shrimp Ratatouille Byaldi at Café Orleans in Disneyland park.
Pixar Fest – The Carl – Fried Bologna Sandwich
Pork chop TV dinner featured at Carnation Café in Disneyland park
Cocoa churro found in Frontierland
Alien Macaroon! Aliens! Found at Tomorrowland
Pixar Fest Celebration Cake, inspired by the familiar yellow Pixar Ball, at Plaza Inn at Disneyland park and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at Disney California Adventure park.
And lots more. I can’t even describe how hungry I was getting while they talked up all the food in our presentation.
There is also a new fireworks show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular,” which will celebrate Pixar stories through the decades as it lights up the sky over Disneyland. I have seen the fireworks shows at Disney and they always spectacular so I can’t wait to experience this one. “Together Forever” comes to life through projections on iconic park locations: Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “It’s a Small World” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A. Buzz Lightyear will be filling in for Tinkerbell and doing the flight during this firework show.
And there is even more. You can meet your favorite Pixar characters walking around Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure, such as Buzz Lightyear and Woody, Russell and Dug, Flik and Atta, Mike and Sulley, and Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. You can also take a ride on the newly decked out Disney Monorails!
During Pixar Fest, the monorail fleet gets a new look with characters from “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo.” This highway in the sky offers transportation to Downtown Disney with aerial views of the theme parks while on the 2.5-mile route.
And we will be getting a Pixar Play Parade led by the iconic ball and lamp! I want to be there right now seeing this stuff get started! I love Pixar and I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions to Pixar Fest.
