The Lust Garden
Here is a wonderful excerpt from the new book, The Lust Garden which can be bought at Amazon.
The daily pressure of superstar Gianna Salvani’s fame is evident to her dutiful assistant, Blair…
And there it was. Blair’s perfectly, crooked smile that captivated her every time. The same smile from years ago when they’d met as naïve kids consumed with the lure of fame. That was a long time ago. She was a different person then. So was he.
“I do love you,” she whispered. And she meant it.
“I know.”
“Scoot. I need you closer to me,” she said, patting the space next to her.
Gianna undid the clip that was holding back her blonde mane and let her hair spill down her back. Rushing like water, her shoulders drowned in platinum. She gently massaged her scalp releasing what tension she could. Her dark roots were starting to show. Maintenance, maintenance—it was time for another dye job.
“Can we just sit here for a while?” she begged. “And just stop… stop it all for a minute. We can play my favorite game where we pretend we’re just like everyone else. Like her, over there,” she said, tapping the tinted window and pointing to a woman on the street. “She’s pretty, right?”
“G, I’m worried about you.”
She smiled back reassuringly but didn’t answer. She was worried too, about a lot of things.
“Quit… I’m not gonna shave my head and attack you with an umbrella.”
“Thank you,” he mouthed, his hands together in a praying gesture.
Blair shifted his body and positioned himself next to her. He wrapped his arms around her tiny waist and pulled her close. She liked the cuddling. Together, they stared. New York City was alive with yellow cabs swerving in and out of congested lanes and endless lines of robotic nobodies in suits rushing to corporate jobs. And she was just another movie star in the back of a limo.
