Do you have a child that loves the strange and macabre? I do and he loves to tell me all about each weird thing that he reads or sees on TV. He loves the Planet Earth series because of the giant bugs and weird animals it shows. He likes to watch the discovery channel just to find the most awesome animals ever and tell me how they eat their food. Sometimes its too much for this pregnant momma. It has so many great articles in it about amazing and weird things that my son has read through three or four times and still loves it.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! has always had the best collections of things you never knew that you wanted to know. Like this girl featured above. ‘At just 14 years of age, Michigan’s Adrianne Lewis already has a tongue that measures a whopping 3½ in (8.75 cm) long. She is known as the “Mini Gene Simmons” after the Kiss frontman whose tongue is more than 7 in (17.5 cm) long.’ That is one of the articles I found.
There is an awesome pull out spread on the Titanic in this book. Ripley’s Publishing really pulled out all the stops with this one. Download the Weird is jam-packed with an incredible array of crazy facts, stories, lists, and interviews. There is even a really interesting but gross one on giant sushi served by a restaurant.
