Race into Fun with Steep from Ubisoft

If you’re looking for a game that’s great for all ages, Steep from Ubisoft should definitely be on your list! This fun game will get you racing down snowy mountains using all different types of transportation; skis, snowboards, and even wingsuits, and parasails! I have to admit that when I was asked about games to review I had never heard of Steep. I guess I am out of the loop because when this came in the mail my son went crazy. I told my nephew about it and he went crazy. Even my 6 year old had heard of it. So I am glad I got it yet slightly chastised that I was so behind the times.

Steep can be played solo, or multiplayer. The online game play is quite competitive, and definitely makes for a challenge because some people are just beyond good! You can change from first person view, to third person view with just the touch of a button. Switching between transportation devices can also be changed easily by using the menu wheel in the game. This game is more than just racing, though. There’s also an awesome trick system integrated into play, where players can do tricks and stunts for extra points, and to unlock other content in-game. Exploring the game world will also unlock more content, so make sure you play all over the game’s map! I will not say it is easy. I tried to play and some tricks were a piece of cake but some I still cant get. My 10 year old nephew seems to be way better than me but even my husband said that some of the game play is probably too hard for a younger kid. And it gets kind of cluttered there for a bit. I know my PS4 is dusty. My kids lost the case to Steep about the second we opened it so I cant show you the pretty snowscape on it. I think this one is one of my new favorites to play because it is just so pretty. Like amazing graphics.

This new game from Ubisoft may not have been on your radar, but I guarantee your kids have heard of it! Since it has an E rating, you’ll feel safe allowing even your youngest of players to play Steep! My 6 year old likes to play. He fails a lot but he keeps trying and that is the kind of game that I like. Let your kids choose which mode of play they want to engage in, there are four to choose from! They can choose Bone Collector, which isn’t as bad as it seems, and gets players points for doing crazy stunts and crashing. Then there’s The Explorer, which focuses more on exploring the game’s maps. If they want to become the master of tricks, they can choose The Freestyler, which focuses more on the accuracy and precision of tricks. Lastly, they can choose Freerider, which is a mix of all three types! Enjoy playing across all the modes, and see which one suits you best!
