Come Home to a Clean House After Vacation

This is a sponsored post to talk about Neato Robotics. As always, all opinions are my own. #NeatoRoboticsPartner

Do you ever feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? When did it become a chore to go places? It feels like I spend the entire time before vacation planning and then the entire time coming back home cleaning. I have been planning a trip to explore stuff in my own state for once in Florence’s 7 Points and all I can think about is all I have to do when I get home. This time though I am going to be proactive and make a list to be able to come home to a clean house after vacation and some essentials you need like the Neato D8 Intelligent Robot Vacuum.

DO LAUNDRY BEFORE LEAVING

I am sure you are thinking that you always do that but I am talking sheets, covers, everything. That way when you get home, you will come home to a clean bed and a closet with clothes that you didn’t take with you. You won’t have to worry about having clothes the next day because you just want to rest when you get home. You already doing laundry for your trip clothes so its not too much more to go ahead and finish the rest of stuff. You will thank yourself when you get home.

HAVE A DAY WE LEAVE CHECKLIST

There are some things you need to do right before you leave and having it on a list to check out helps so much. You may forget in the heat of getting everyone in the car. Take out the trash, get rid of perishable food before you leave, change your temp for your air/heat to be off while you are gone, have a clean dishwasher and a clean sink, make sure you have turned out the lights and double check rooms for any left out cups, snacks, etc. If you have teenagers then you definitely know what I mean.

MAKE A GROCERY LIST FOR WHEN YOU COME HOME

We usually eat out on the day we return but then the kids are starving the next morning. I usually have a grocery pickup set up for that morning so I can restock on those perishable things. And having a meal plan already planned will definitely help you feel less like you have to do sooooo much when you get home. Do something light for that next night like this pesto and pea salad recipe.

UTILIZE TECHNOLOGY

There is such amazing technology out there to help you out. Like the Neato D8 Intelligent Robot Vacuum. You can make sure your house is clean while you are gone. The Neato D8 has 100 minutes (covering 750 square feet) of run time, but will auto charge for larger jobs if it needs to. And you can schedule it to clean certain areas while having certain places “off limits”. They have tons of tips on their website as well as printables for cleaning schedules. You need to check out it and get one today because you are missing out on all the help it can offer you. Plus having a robot vacuum is super cool. Save $200 on the Neato D8 from June 20 to July 24th! You should also use a temp app to make sure you come home to a cool/warm house.

WHEN YOU COME HOME

Once you get home, have everyone go ahead and unpack those suitcases. Wet clothes from the beach sitting in a bag smell really bad if you don’t immediately get them out. Plus you want to keep that sand in the laundry room. Have everyone have a place on the stairs where their stuff is and they have to take it upstairs to their rooms. Give everyone a picking up chore for the vacation stuff and then relax! Go take a bath in your own bathtub and relax until you have to do the parent thing and start worrying about the next big event like back to school planning or holiday planning.
