World Breastfeeding Week & the Big Latch On Event

Wow. I cant believe its here already. My first World Breastfeeding Week.  When I breastfed my older son, I had no idea World Breastfeeding Week existed. So here I am… I have been Exclusively breastfeeding Baby E for 10 months, 2 weeks and 2 days. Its been a long journey but I am so happy to have made it this far.

For those that havent heard of World Breastfeeding Week, please go check it out. Its amazing. It is celebrated in more than 170 countries. This year is going on from August 1st through August 7th!

The Big Latch On Event is a newer event. On Saturday August 6th 2011 at 10:30am local time in locations across the USA, nursing mothers will gather to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and try to break the record for the most women breastfeeding simultaneously! So witnesses will count at each participating location how many babies are latched on from 10:30 am to 10:31 am.

Baby E and I will be there, will you?

  1. I had no idea this existed either. My baby was just born August 1st though so it's all new to me! I'll keep my eye out for it next year to help promote breastfeeding. It's really sad how many people look down upon it when it's done in public.I was sent here from the $10 Amazon giveaway by Makobi Scribe.
