Walking the Cinderella Red Carpet Premiere at the El Capitan Theater #CinderellaEvent

I was invited on an expenses paid trip to LA by Disney to cover the #CinderellaEvent in exchange for my posts of the trip experiences. As always, all opinions are my own.

I did it. I survived. I walked a red carpet premiere in Los Angeles at the El Capitan Theater and I did not trip. I did not make funny faces at the massive amounts of press and I did not make a fool of myself by fangirling over anyone famous. I did see plenty of famous people and stood next to a few. I even offered a napkin to a couple of Disney child stars. Let me tell you how my red carpet experience happened. Obviously we got beautiful at the JCPenney Glam Ball early in the day or I would not have had the confidence I had.

I had a blast at the Pre-Reception that JCPenney invited us too. I ate snacks, drank my water out of a fancy wine glass, and stood on my heels entirely too long. After we finished there we walked upstairs to the red carpet outside of the El Capitan theater (we were in the basement for the pre-reception). Because its better to get pictures going down the carpet (like where the stars get out of their cars and then walk down) we walked down to the beginning and worked our way back up. It was a bit hectic! There were soooo many people from every press junket imaginable. Of course though. Cinderella is an amazing movie with wonderful stars so I know that I would be there.

We walked. We laughed and we were all kind of scared. There were people telling us to go faster down the carpet but we kept stopping and taking pictures. I knew I had a ticket to the golden ball and I was going to love every minute.

The picture above is me and a wonderful friend of mine from The Art of Random Willynillyness.  She was a calming force to me to not rush down the carpet. She also had a GREAT dress. I loved it.

They had herolds actually playing the horns and they had jugglers and performers everywhere. They had a nail station and a craft station. If I was a Disney kid I would have had a blast. I wish I had a kid so that I could go over there.  They even had a dance floor with people dressed in period wear dancing with the kids and each other.

I sat for someone to create my profile in a cool piece. It was nice to get off my feet. I felt really regal doing it as well. I even got to pose for a picture in front of a cool green screen provided by JCPenney. We could choose between standing in front of the Grand Staircase or in front of Cinderella’s carriage. I had a green dress on so it blended it. It was funny. I looked like floating arms and a head.

I was there with so many famous people. Lily James walked past me several times. She was definitely the belle of the ball and I was in awe of her dress.

I was also able to see the cast take photos together as well as lots of other stars with their children.

We got to eat some nice food. Like really nice. I had this shrimp kebab thing that was really good. And the desserts…I do not even know what to say about the desserts. All in all it was so amazing. I can’t wait to get to go again.

Do not forget that Cinderella releases in theaters on March 13th and that you can only see the Disney short Frozen Fever preceding Cinderella. Keep an eye out next week for my interviews with the stars and check out the hashtag #CinderellaEvent for more red carpet photos and the awesome experiences of my fellow bloggers.

  1. I would love to trade place with you go Cinderella event. Cinderella was my all time favorite growing up.

  2. What a super exciting experience. I love the photo of you and your friend. Both dresses (and the ladies wearing them) are stunning. Looks like such fun!
