The One Thing Your Kids Want You to Stop Doing

For kids, structure and boundaries are essential.

According to research, limits aren’t just important to set for practical reasons. They also help children learn how to be responsible, patient, creative, and determined – all key traits for success in life.

Most of the time, creating and enforcing rules can be easy with kids: dinner before dessert, don’t talk to strangers, use your P’s and Q’s… But when it comes to managing screen time?

The lines start getting a bit blurry.

It’s easy enough to have a rule that devices aren’t allowed at the dinner table, or that they are turned off ‘if and when you say so’. But as a parent, you know it’s not that simple.

‘Five more minutes’ can very easily stretch into an hour, and letting your child use their tablet for fifteen minutes before bed can easily turn into playing Minecraft into the late hours of the night.

When it comes to screen time, your kids want you to set boundaries (even if they aren’t willing to admit it to themselves!).

As a parent, learning how to do that is essential.

Lucky for you, there’s a tool you can use that will do it all for you.

Introducing, OurPact.

OurPact is a free (yes, 100% free!) parental control app that allows parents to block kids devices at a touch, or set schedules for use.

With OurPact, you and your children are held accountable to agreements around screen time. At any time, you can manage your children’s devices. During blocks, all internet and apps disappear immediately (on Android devices, they remain visible, but can’t be opened, on iOS they vanish completely and return after blocks end). You can access devices on Wi-Fi or cellular connections, from anywhere, at any time.

Don’t want devices at the dinner table? It’s as easy as setting a manual block on all your kids devices for one hour, at a touch.

Don’t want devices used past bedtime? Set an automated schedule for bedtime hours, and every night, all apps and internet will disappear at that time, with no effort required on your end.

Want to make sure your kid isn’t distracted during homework time? Block access ‘At-a-Touch’ until it’s all done!

The app is a total lifesaver for parents and kids alike. Not only does it set clear boundaries (boundaries that are actually enforced), which means healthier device habits for your kids, but it also means devices will no longer get in the way of the moments that matter most.

Download OurPact from the iOS App Store today.

  1. I try to limit my son to only 3 hours of screen time a week. I encourage him to be creative with his free time.

  2. I limit my kid to one hour of screen time a day by using parental control app. It is called Kidslox. I set the daily limit, but if he behaves not well, I can even adjust his time (minus 15 minutes if he does not want to do homework or something like that ). Also, I know that he will not find inappropriate things while searching something on the Internet, as they have content blocking feature. It is a great app for parents (kids do not like it, but it is a point ))
