I recently set up the Samsung SmartThings + ADT Smart Home Security Starter Kit in our home. Or really I asked my husband to do it while I was out of town. The Samsung + ADT Smart Home Security Starter Kit comes with The ADT Security Hub, two ADT Door and Window Detectors and one ADT Motion Detector which are pictured above minus the Door and Window Detectors because my husband had already placed those. I decided to use the desk mount instead of placing the Security Hub on my wall because I am always at my desk anyway. The devices are all wireless so its pretty easy to set them up.
It was pretty easy to install according to my husband. He started out by downloading the Samsung SmartThings app onto his phone. This is where people can go to to be able to remotely arm and disarm their security system, add new SmartThings to the system and even test out the system. Each of the detectors has a QR code on it which you just scan into the system. Take a good look around your home and decide which doors/windows you think would be the most likely targets for a break-in and use those for your window/door detectors. The motion sensor should be installed 6.5′ – 7.5′ high. I let my husband handle that as well. The only thing I couldn’t figure out is how to change the time on it but I plan on looking into it today.

It was very easy to set up and arm. It was easy to enter my information and feel safe that I have a security system in place now. I like how its an app on my phone and I can access it anytime/anywhere. I think I am really going to feel safer with it in place at my home.
