Why is it so hot in the summer? Whyyyyyy? I am joking. I know why. It is so we can wear shorts and eat Bomb Pops while lounging about in the air conditioner. That’s what I do during the summer I actually love the summer. I love being able to wear tank tops and flip flops. I especially love eating Bomb Pops because they are the icy treat of my childhood. This time last year I threw a Bomb Pop party for my niece and she had such a good time. I am super thankful to be able to do that for her again and honor both the National Bomb Pop Day on June 26th and my nation’s Independence Day, July4th.

Of course my son had to get in on the pictures. He is a camera ham and it really does love him. He prefers the Sour Wower Bomb Pops but I prefer the Original kind.
I think another great thing about summer is that people are more available for parties. So here are some of my tips for throwing a great summer time party.
Tip 1:
Good eats! Whether you are grilling out or having everyone bring something potluck style, food is going to be the drawing point to any great party! Plan your list a week before your party and start stocking up. If you are like me and entertain a lot, you should watch the sales for great deals on napkins. I recently got 10 things of nice napkins (the thick party type) for free from Publix because I watched the deals and used my coupons wisely. My mom and sister made two trips and got even more since they have so many people that live in their household.
Tip 2:
Always buy more than what you need. Just because 10 people RSVP’d does not mean 10 people will show up. If you have too much left over then send some home with people. If you don’t have enough…..well, I for one would be upset if I was the only one to not get to eat a delicious piece of corn on the cob fresh from the grill.
Tip 3:
Its summer!!! Break out the water guns, water balloons, sprinklers. Go wild with your party ideas! I am sure everyone is melting in this heat and they would love to join you for your faux Iceberg Attack party or your Water Balloon War party. Make a mess!!!
Tip 4:
Stock up on your favorite Bomb Pop treats at Publix! Bomb Pops were a super hit at my party and they will continue to be a staple in my house. They were a favorite of mine as a child and I love being able to pass that on to my children.

My favorite bomb pop would have to be the original bomb pop because it brings back so many memories of me being a kid in the summer and hearing the music from the icecream truck long before we could see it. I always got a bomb pop because it was huge an I got 3 fkavors in one. Although I do have to say I am excited to try the sour wower.
