I think I am a hoarder. In fact I know that my husband is a hoarder. I read yesterday that they are canceling the show Hoarders and I was upset because I never got to see it. I also never got to be on it. Today is my 4 year wedding anniversary and I told my husband that this year we are doing things differently. We are going to start getting rid of thing we never use. If I didn’t live in a cul de sac I would have an epic yard sale but that is out of the question. I told my husband that we had to do something about all the boxes in the basement. One of the things I want to go through is all of our old clothes and our old dvds. I would like to get new clothes and movies to replace them.
Ever since 2006 we have not bought dvds if we could help it. My husband has been obsessed with his PS3. So we have a gigantic box of old DVDs that we have bought the Blu-ray versions of. I also have a ton of kids movies that I would pay someone to take from me. There is only so many times you can watch a movie before you want to ‘accidentally’ break it. All you parents out there know exactly what I mean. I heard about Music Magpie recently and found out that you can make money selling your dvds, games, cds, and Blu-rays online. Make money for something I would probably give away? It is easy to do and free shipping? Um, yes please. I really don’t see a downside.
I have a way to make more room and make money while doing it. Now I just have to lure my husband out of the house so that I can go through all our old CDs. He may cry if I get rid of any of his but it is a necessary evil so that I can continue to add to my collection of every season of every awesome show Joss Whedon ever made.
Happy Anniversary! We have tons of old DVDs and CDs too that the kids have outgrown and some we’ve watched so many times, we can recite the entire dialog! Thanks for the info on Music Magpie. OMG! Free shipping, did you say????!!!!!
