“Are you a new or expecting parent? Do you know someone who is? If so, this book is for you.

There are many items you will need to get ready for your baby, and Newborn Necessities is one of those things. As soon as your baby is born, your doctor, midwife, nurse, and/or pediatrician will ask you to keep track of his or her feedings and diaper changes. Make it easier on yourself by writing it down. Using the charts provided in Newborn Necessities will help eliminate common feelings of stress and anxiety associated with, When did I last feed the baby? Is he/she eating enough? When was their last bowel movement?

This book is designed for parents by parents. It is intended to make your journey into parenthood a little bit easier by providing you with easy-to-use charts to document this information. It is a quick, compact, and easy-to-understand way to chart this information, thus leaving you more time to spend with your baby and catch up on your sleep!”

I received this great book as part of my New Baby Gift Guide.  Jennifer Cigale went all out with this great guide, Newborn Necessities. I knew when I saw the fun, happy cover on it that I would love it.  I had Moriah on April 30th and even though she is my third child, it has been so long that I forgot almost everything.  I was super glad to have a book with all the guidelines in it. I packed it in my bag for the hospital and I am so glad I did. The Feeding Facts and Diaper Diary were so helpful! I have the worst memory so I really used the Feeding Facts to make sure I was switching breasts when I needed to.  Also, the nurses were coming in every couple of hours and asking me exactly when I fed her and how long.  Even though I refused narcotics, I was super out of it in the hospital so I just showed them where I had marked them in the Newborn Necessities log.  It has a space for breast (minutes) and a space for bottles (ounces).

It has 30 days of a diaper diary as well as a guide on how many wets/dirties you should have per day for your infant. It even has a place for  the time of day and comments.  I remember when Moriah was 4 days old her BM’s turned to a brown color and my husband and I got scared. I wrote that in the comments each time it happened but by the time we saw the doc on day 5 they were back to yellow.  She thought our little log book was cute and loved how we had it all marked down.

I would definitely recommend for anyone expecting currently. It would also make an awesome baby shower gift! You can purchase the “Newborn Necessities” book from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Tate Publishing website.
