“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

Have you ever dropped your phone in the toilet? Come on, admit it. I know I have. Twice. Well, three times but the third was really the baby. The first time my phone was on the edge of the sink which I was trying to unclog and it was on vibrate. Someone called me and it started to tip in the sink so I grabbed it and it flipped into the toilet. The second time I was walking and I went to the bathroom to look for my brush and it just jumped out of my hands. Really. The third time my son had my phone and he was running toward the tub (which was filling up with his bath water) so I tried to get it from him and he threw it in the air and it landed right in the toilet. Three phones in 11 years. So I know that it is easy to do. I am sure most parents worry about their phones around their kids. They worry about spills, pools, sinks, and definitely the toilet. Most kids go through a ‘magic’ flushing stage. I don’t have to worry about that anymore though because I have a Kyocera Hydro Vibe Waterproof 4G LTE smartphone from Sprint as part of my #SprintMom Ambassadorship.

The Kyocera Hydro Vibe  is waterproof and can be completely submerged in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. I dont think my kids can do more than that with me watching (where would they get water more than a meter deep at home?) so I do not feel scared when I let them use the phone. The 4.5 inch qHD touchscreen display is impact-resistant so another plus on letting my destructive kids play with it.  They love how easy it is to use as well. The Kyocera Hydro Vibe is also going to be  running on the Sprint Spark network, which enhances the phone’s LTE service, allowing for high quality video. Since my kids mostly want to use my phone to watch Netflix or Amazon that is great for my family. You can find more information on the Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE smartphone site.

The picture above was taken with the Kyocera. Its hard to catch a moving baby but I did it. We tried out the Kyocera Hydro Vibe for a few weeks at home before I decided to do a true test of the waterproofness. Is that a word? Probably not bu I still think it sounds cool.  We took the Kyocera Vibe to my mom’s house to her outside pool for the little kids.  It had rained several days so the pool was slightly green and nasty.  My mom had actually lost her phone to that water a day or do before (it worked after two days in rice but the sound was messed up) so I thought it was the best place to test the phone.  Here is the video of my mom being super squeamish about dropping the phone.  She even squealed at one point.

And here is the phone working fine after she rubbed the excess water off on her shirt.   We took that video like five times so if it sounds weird that is me sighing at my mom to just ‘drop the phone already!’

The Kyocera Hydro Vibe is cool for more than just it’s waterproof and impact resistance abilities.  It also has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and video camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. Gotta love those selfies.  I know I do and the added video camera is pretty amazing.  And my favorite part of the phone? My absolute favorite feature?  It is the fact that it has a 2,000mAh battery for longer use on a single charge. I lose chargers like crazy.  I am always forgetting to charge my phone and I get someone and have no battery.  I LOVE that this phone has 14 hours of talk time.

What do you think your favorite feature of the Kyocera Hydro Vibe would be?   Have you ever lost a phone to water?
