Helping to Keep my Cat’s Teeth Healthy with Meow Mix Brushing Bites

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of The J.M. Smucker Company. The opinions and text are all mine.

I think you can tell that I am a cat lady. I love my cats. They love me. Maybe. They could possibly just tolerate me because I am the one who rubs their tummy and gives them food. My lazy kitties are my world. I like to give them what they need to be healthy and happy. I am sure you have heard me say that before because I am all about my babies. They are always in my lap or on my shoulder. My cat Artemis even likes to give me kisses by which I mean she rubs her nose all over my face. My daughter ACTUALLY tries to give them kisses which they run from.

I personally don’t let them lick me because their breath smells like fish. Sometimes when Artemis or Alexander Ovechcat get too close to my face I can smell their cat food which I know is healthy for them but smelly for me. I do worry about their teeth because I know that bad breath can be a sign of dental decay in humans so I wasn’t sure if it was the same in cats. So I always keep watch. I read that a huge number of cats can show signs of oral disease by 3 years of age. My cats just turned 2 this summer. So when I heard about Meow Mix Brushing Bites I was excited to work with them! The product can be found at your local Walmart and will also be available on Walmart.com soon. For now, you can find out more about Meow Mix Brushing Bites here.

I used to try to give my dog dental treats and he would always turn them down. This is a dog who ate trash if we didn’t keep the trash can on the counter. So I did worry that my cats wouldn’t like the Meow Mix Brushing Bites because they are treats that help keep their teeth clean when fed daily. I should not have worried because Alexander Ovechcat was all over the bag before I even opened it. He was like “hey! I think this is for me. I need this.”

He loves them! Artemis took a bit of coaxing because she is normally not a treat girl but once she actually tried them, she liked them as well. They are made with real chicken or salmon for a delicious taste your cats will enjoy. We got the chicken blend and the salmon blend and I saw that they are fortified with vitamin D and calcium to help support strong teeth and bones. I feel like I am a parent trying to hide broccoli in the mac n cheese because I am giving them treats but they are ‘good for them’ treats. And you can tell by Alexander Ovechcat that he will beg and even stand up for them. I think he was a dog in a past life.

And we all know how frugal I am so I was happy to see that these Meow Mix Brushing Bites can be found at Walmart and they are pretty inexpensive. I just searched for them with the other cat treats and they had just put them out. I think I was more excited than my cats to try them because I always worry about their health. I mother hen them all the time and now I get to do with yummy treats that they enjoy! Score for this cat mom!

  1. This cat is so precious. I would love to have one but I am allergic. I can tell you give your cat good oral health.

  2. These look fun. I wish they had a product for humans like this. I mean for like when you are not at home and feel you need to refresh your mouth. Just a thought.
