Five Tips on Saving Money for a Vacation and a Getaway with Gain

Alabama weather is a bit wild. 30 degrees one day and 75 the next. I have lived here my whole life so I am used to it. However, it’s been unbearably cold lately. Below freezing weather for weeks and weeks. I am ready for some warm weather and a break. I need to get out of this house and go somewhere warm. I even dream about it. The beach, the pool, the sunshine are all on my mind. So, I have decided to start a spring break fund for somewhere with an ocean view and share some easy ways to save for a vacation.

  1. Start a new savings account just for vacation and designate a set amount each week. I have been using Acorns but there are many other services out there.
  2. Round up your spare change. Instead of putting it back in your wallet throw it in a jar.
  3. Start using coupons at the store. You would be surprised at how quickly the savings add up.
  4. Use a credit card with a rewards program for airline or hotel points.
  5. Have a spring cleaning yard sale and put the proceeds directly towards your vacation. You get a cleaner, less cluttered house AND extra money!

Do you have any other tips on how to save? I can’t wait for spring break to be here. I need a mini vacation getaway ASAP. For now I guess I will settle for smelling the wonderful scents of Gain Laundry Detergent like Tropical Sunrise, White Tea Lavender, or a Moonlight Breeze. I just pop the cap open and get taken away to a more relaxing time. Every time I wash my clothes in my favorite Gain, I just breathe in the scent for a moment and visualize myself sitting on a beach with a book in my hand. It makes my whole laundry area smell like summer and fun. For a limited time, Gain 150 oz. Liquid Laundry Detergent is on Rollback at Walmart for $13.44 (regularly $14.94). So you can have your own mini “getaway” for a little less this month. For even more savings towards a real getaway, watch for the RedPlum coupon book in your 2/11 Sunday paper or go to pgeveryday.com for $2 off Gain Liquid Detergent (valid through 2/24) to bring the price down to just $11.44 for 150 oz. of Gain, or less than $.08 per ounce. And just like that, you are that awesome amount of savings closer to your vacation goal!

How do you get away with Gain? Do you have any tips for saving for vacation?

  1. These are great tips. We try to set aside a little money each week for vacation or whatever might come up. I love Gain products. I use them every time I do laundry!
