Eatsmart Precision Elite Thermocouple Food Thermometer

I try not to be too over the top about food safety- I take sensible precautions about washing my produce and baking things as directed. But when it comes to cooked meats, it’s vital to make sure I hit the correct internal temperature to make sure the food is both delicious and safe to serve to my kids!  I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Eatsmart Precision Elite Thermocouple Food Thermometer while making BBQ pork on my backyard grill. It was SO NICE to actually KNOW what temperature I was hitting!

The Elite Precision Thermometer is perfect for checking food temperatures no matter where you cook, but I think it’s particularly helpful for grilling and cookouts where the temperature of the fire or gas flame can’t be controlled the way it is in an oven. It completely eliminates the guesswork or having to cut into what you are cooking to see if it’s done enough. The thermometer display is back-lit and the number is large and easy to read, and you can swap between Fahrenheit and Celsius with the push of a button.  I found it would give an accurate reading almost instantly. You can freeze the number on the display using the ‘hold’ button, making it possible to read the thermometer after removing it from the food. This makes it a lot easier to see what you’re doing without having to bend down into the heat of the oven or grill!

I had an easy time maintaining the correct temperature on my BBQ using this thermometer and the recipe turned out perfectly- and perfectly safe, since I could effortlessly see when it hit the right temperature! The finely pointed stainless steel probe was easy to insert, easy to clean when I was finished, and can be safely folded back against the plastic handle when not in use. It comes in a handy anti-microbial (gotta watch for cross contamination!) padded case that Velcro closed at the top. It retails for $39.95 on Amazon which I think is a great price!

I’m very pleased with the design and efficiency of this thermometer!  I can see using this in my kitchen regularly, and I’m sure going to have to cookout more now that I can be more confident in my food safety (and yummyness!). Can’t wait to see how this works at Thanksgiving, too!
