If you have been paying attention to the Disney Channel lately you have seen that there are several new things coming out! One of them is the new spin off from Jessie, BUNK’D, which airs tonight after the new and amazing Disney movie Descendants. Check out my set visit to BUNK’D where I met the stars and then come back over to hear about how you are definitely going to want to watch Descendants! The buzz is already happening and everyone is excited to see it. Disney Descendants is out on DVD today as well!

AHH! I am excited that I got to see it early. I love back stories and continuations. When I heard about this movie on Tumblr I was very happy and I worried it would take ages to come together. I know the fanfics are already being written about it. This movie does what so many fanfics try to do. It continues the story. It lets you know what happens after happily ever after and we all want to see that. Plus it has songs and fun dances. I love beautifully choreographed movies.
“Leading into its television premiere TONIGHT, FRIDAY, JULY 31 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), Disney’s “Descendants” has posted more than 1 million views on the WATCH Disney Channel app in just five days, setting records for engagement and viewing for the app which allows consumers to watch programming anytime and anywhere via their desktop, smartphone, tablet and connected TV devices.”
When I was in LA a few weeks ago, I had the chance to screen the movie and interview Director/choreographer Kenny Ortega about the film. If you read my interview post you will see how amazing he is and you will see how every song and dance in the movie has some serious oomph behind it. Is that a word? It should be a word. Watch the clip of the first song of the movie. Rotten to the Core is something I have heard a million times since I showed my son about the movie. He also LOVES a book that is set before the movie, The Isle of the Lost: A Descendants Novel, which sets the stage for the characters of Mal, Jay, Carlos, and Evie. Who are they? Well you can see below.
They are the four main characters who are children from evil parents. They are given the opportunity to come to Auredon (where all the good people in Disney stories live) because Ben, the son of Belle and Beast, thinks they deserve a chance to be good. Of course there are a few people who object to that but you will see it in the movie! Are children good because of who their parents are? Are they evil because of where they live?
There is a huge cast of great characters that you will recognize as the children of famous Disney characters. And like life, some of the ‘good’ characters really show whats underneath when it comes to getting their way. Plus I absolutely love that they added Lonnie. Mulan is one of my all time favorite movies and knowing that Mulan and Shang had such a lovely and sweet daughter just makes me happy on the inside. This is a great feel good movie for the whole family. The younger kids will love the songs and dances and the adults will love the continuation of stories we grew up on. My teenager and my 4 year old have had a blast watching it. You never know what will happen in this movie and you never know who will show up. Maybe some old characters you used to love. What I can say is that you should see this tonight!
You can watch the first 6 minutes of the movie below and then I urge you to watch it all TONIGHT on the Disney Channel at 8 pm followed by the series premiere of BUNK’D!
I think that everyone will enjoy this movie even adults
This Movie looks like it is very good. I will have to see it with my daughter and we would like the story and characters! It looks cool!
I think this would be a cute movie to see. I know that my grandkids would love it.
