Celebrating Summer’s End at Applebees

Thanks to Applebee’s for sponsoring this post by providing compensation and/or giftcards.

I know summer is over but it doesn’t have to stop being fun. I have been trying to plan a fun night with friends for weeks now before school gets all crazy so we can celebrate summer’s end and the start of my very favorite season. I love the in between times. In Alabama the weather is always about the same so when the winds of fall and spring come its so lovely. I especially love fall because of the changing colors of the leaves. Plus Halloween. So I decided to grab my friends and just go to the Applebee’s near my house that we love to go to since I recently was asked to work with them. They are always sweet there and they understand that one of my friends always comes late because she is a nurse and can often not leave when she is supposed to. They just set her place and go ahead and get our orders. I love when restaurants don’t try to rush you in and out of the door and actually take the time to get to know their recurring customers.

I love going out to Applebee’s because of their 2 for $20 menu. It helps when you are broke from buying new school clothes because you get two entrees and an appetizer. And I love their appetizers. We had so much food on the table that it looked like a feast. And yet being the voracious eaters that we are, we finished almost all of it. Only I couldn’t finish  my steak because I ate too many chips with salsa. And way too much of my husband’s 4-Cheese Mac + Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. If you have never tried that 4-Cheese Mac + Cheese you need to get down there right now. Cheese + bacon + yum equals amazing! I always get the 6 oz. USDA Choice Top Sirloin. This time I said I would try something new but I just can’t resist it.

They have a ton of choices for kids meals as well. Look at that face! Such a happy kid with her corndog. Our server brought it out well before our food because she knew that our little miss was waiting and getting impatient. Our server was fun. She made us all laugh and she thought our friend’s daughter was great because every time she would see her she would say, corndog? I want a corndog!

It was also mine and my husband’s anniversary. We are so goofy. He kept joking with our waitress about bringing us a wedding cake out. She laughed at him. He didn’t want to interrupt our friend date but we all are friends so it worked out great. It’s such a nice atmosphere for any kind of friend group or date so we go there often. And our Applebee’s on 119 in Pelham, AL is right near the entrance to a concert venue so we eat there before every concert we go to. It’s very convenient as well as being delicious.
