Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day releases today in theaters! I have been wait for it come out so that I could show my family this awesome movie. It has something for everyone and I wanted to give you five reasons that you should go see it as soon as you can! And then again the next week.  Alexander is a normal boy who is semi-liked in school with older siblings who ignore him and he was the baby for like 11 years before his brother came along.  So he is feeling neglected especially when the most popular kid in school decides to have a super awesome party on the same day as Alexander’s 12th birthday party. A party that Alexander cant hope to compete with. Meanwhile, his family is having the best day ever. So when he tries to get some sympathy for his terrible day, they all talk over him about how great theirs were.  So he makes a wish for them to see what his life is like and boy, do they!

I recently posted about the interview I did with Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner and they were super funny. I think the fact that they are parents in real life has made their roles as the parents in Alexander so much more believable. They are both favorites of mine because of their long history of being in great movies. This one is going to be right up top though because they really sold it. They were hilarious in the movie especially Jennifer Garner.  There is a scene where she is working and her day is going horrible but when she talks to her husband on the phone (Steve Carell) and overhears him asking the pharmacist if the green ink their baby ingested was poisonous. She immediately RUNS to come check on her baby. That is what a real parent would do and I think it made the movie even better showing her struggle with being a working mom during the time the baby is growing up but it seems like she wasn’t when the older kids were growing up.

These kids. These kids were great. You could almost believe they were real siblings and actually, according to them in our interview, they still remain friends after the filming was over. They laughed, they bickered, and they totally stole the show.  The scene with Kerris Dorsey in her Peter Pan outfit at her play will one that I will laugh about weeks later.

Did you know Baby Trevor was actually played by two twin girls?  Elise and Zoey Vargus make the cutest baby ever whose facial expressions during the movie will make you roll on the floor laughing. I know I did. That smug, I know I am adorable, look is killer.

Most of all this movie is amazing because it shows what a family can face if they stay together. No matter what if you have people you love, then you can face the most  terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day ever.  I definitely recommenced it to everyone who wants to laugh and feel good.  See it this weekend!

  1. This looks like a very fun movie to go and see and I bet it is so funny! I like Steve Carrell in movies because he is so funny. I want to go with my family and see this movie.

  2. I cannot wait to see this. If it has Steve Carell in it, it’s bound to be good. He is just hilarious. I’m a fan of Jennifer Garner too. I’m not very familiar with the child/teen actors and actresses but I can’t wait to see them on screen. Just from the trailers, it looks like they all had great chemistry. Can’t wait to see it!!

  3. I really want to see this movie as it sounds so funny and portrays real life events. I really like Jennifer Garner and I can just imagine her reaction when the baby ingested ink. Can’t wait to see this one.

  4. From what I have seen on the commercials this looks like to be a very funny entertaining family movie!
