Above All Else Book Review & NYHE Sponsor Spotlight

A rising star in the international world of skydiving, Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld survived a plane crash which killed sixteen of the twenty-two people on board. He was left critically injured and woke up from a six-week-long coma with a broken neck, broken skull, severe head trauma, a collapsed lung, and other serious internal injuries. Against all odds, Dan recovered and went on to become a multi-time world champion skydiver. With the love and support of friends and family, Dan was able not only to resurrect his life but return to skydiving to achieve greater heights than he could have ever imagined. His techniques and methods for excelling are applicable to all people, no matter their goals. Dan uses his experiences to teach the lessons he’s learned–as a competitor, coach, business owner, father, and husband–to help others achieve their dreams, overcome obstacles, and reach their peak performance

I recently got the chance to read Above All Else by Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld and I am extremely humbled by what I read. It is an amazing book which I highly recommend. I received it as part of my New Year’s Hoppin’ Eve Giveaway and it will be one of my prizes to ‘Start Fresh with the New Year’!

Did you know that more people jump out of a plane (skydive) on New Years than most other times of the year? I could never do it. Well, I say I won’t normally but New Years is all about doing something different for the upcoming year. You get to start fresh with a clean slate and maybe make better choices. Dan’s amazing story of hope literally gripped me and forced me to finish it in one sitting. It was a easy read but I do think I cried a couple of time during it. It was so awe inspiring and like I mentioned earlier, extremely humbling. I cant even imagine what Dan had to go through even though I read his story, what it cost him to keep trying, to keep going everyday.

One of my absolute favorite quotes from the book, “Most great human achievements began as someone’s impossible dream, a crazy fantasy. It was the dreamers of their day who imagined electricity, flying machines, walking on the moon, running a four-minute mile, or instantly communicating on a cell phone or the Internet.” It is so amazing to think that every great thing in the world began as a simple dream. Dan uses his book to help others in all aspects of life. He challenges everyone to pursue their dream and whatever your goals are, Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld can help you make them a reality.
