Charm bracelets are practically part of the culture I was raised in. Here in the south, especially when I was younger, it seemed like all my friends at school had them. The charms and bracelets of my younger days very basic and plain- pewter ballet shoes, a silver-looking poodle, what might have been the car from the Monolopy board game. Not much choice there, but we loved and used what we had. And for kids, those charms were fine!
In recent years the charm world has really opened up with bracelets, beads and findings intended for adults. When Chamilia asked me to participate in the Chamilia Traveling Charm Bracelet giveaway I jumped at the chance! They sent me this lovely wrap bracelet pictured above to thank me! Their beads and charms are beautifully detailed and there are hundreds to choose from, making each customizable bracelet unique and tailored to the wearer’s specific interests and memories. I think this may the most fun campaign that I have been on because I love Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and I always wanted to do something like it. Now a couple of other bloggers and myself are adding charms and sending it on to the next girl.
In keeping with the traveling theme, I added the Drop Top Roadster charm to the bracelet- it’s a sterling silver two-seat convertible with Swarovski crystal elements and black wheels that actually turn! I’m so impressed with the level of detail and design that Chamilia has put into the Roadster. This certainly isn’t a board game charm from my childhood!
I’m also adding one of the Birthstone Jewels Bead. The jade green Swarovski Element Crystals in the May birthstone bead are perfect for a redhead like me! And the green reminds me of the wedding bands my husband and I picked out. Since he loves blue and I love black, green has always been our go-to compromise color.
One of the things I really love about the Chamilia line of beads and bracelets are the lock beads. They fasten and lock to ANY part of the charm bracelet- a function unique to the Chamilia line. This enables the wearer to secure the elements in place in any arrangement for a set placement of beads. You can also remove the locks to allow the beads and charms to cascade freely around the bracelet for a more old-fashioned (classic!) charm bracelet experience. There are almost two dozen lock styles to choose from, so they are just as much a part of the charm bracelet customization as the beads and charms themselves!
Now that I have a daughter, I can’t wait to start her a charm bracelet and continue the tradition! With so many options to choose from I know we will enjoy the beads and charms we select over the years to remind us of the special times in our lives. I also think that the other bloggers who got to participate with me feel the same way about passing it on. Please go check out their posts and give them some love.
I’m not a big jewelry wearer but this looks awesome! I would wear a personalized one!
What a fun idea for creating a memory charm bracelet! I could see sending a traveling bracelet to family members, for each one to add a charm or two for a bride to be or a mom-to-be.
Kat the traveling charm bracelet is just so cute! I love it. We travel a lot for my hubby’s work so this is perfect. Thanks for the heads up about the giveaway.
Hi Kat, I love Chamilia as well and have for years- This bracelet really speaks to me as our family does travel alot and the car represents all our fall folliage trips we take during Autumn upstate as well as to the Balloonfest every September. THe motorcycle reminds me of our rides around the island while on vacation we took, and I love green,, And the globe reminds me of all the places I have traveled to before I was married. So crossing my fingers on this one. LOve how you put it all together.I dont have to mention the camera thats always in my hand…….lol Thanks for letting me know about this giveaway<3

The lock beads are a nice addition, I love charm bracelets, they were the rage growing up along with scarab bracelets. I never had a charm bracelet, time to start!
