Black Diamond Jinn
Have sex, avert doom, save the world.
The Mayan Doom is real. Government witch Amaia Jones has the spreadsheet to prove it.
Amaia is a desk-bound research wizard, living uncomfortably in the shadow of her famous Venus-magic parents. Then she discovers the world
is ending. Tonight. But her bulldog of a boss not only refuses to believe her, he won’t give her the secret to calling the one force powerful enough to help-the jinn. Amaia turns to her mental guardian angel, Rafe, the darkly handsome presence who has comforted her since
her parents died.
Rafe has a secret of his own. He’s a black diamond jinn, one of the deadliest and most powerful of his kind. He’s detected an enemy
ruthlessly using blood sacrifice to stoke Y12 public panic. Rafe needs to get into the human realm to stop the Doom, but he can’t unless Amaia calls him, and she is threatened by his scorching sensuality.
Amaia’s guardian angel is a stunning jinni and suddenly her job is far more complicated. Jinn take their pound of flesh in exchange for
magical help, but the only flesh Rafe wants is hers, taut with delight. Sounds great, except Venus magic is what drove a wedge between her parents.
But her alternatives are rapidly dwindling, and with four hours to go on humanity’s darkest night, the only alternative to surrendering her flesh may be surrendering her life.
The tour will run from July 23-August 3.
Are you beginning to see that I love books that are more adult? I go through stages of only YA books and then I turn to the erotic, supernatural type books. Black Diamond Jinn and probably this review is 18+. I really enjoy fantasy novels because they bring things I loved as a child into a more adult light. I always thought jinn’s were amazing and scary because they granted wishes but always at a price. I always said that I met one, I would wish that I had never met them because every book or movie I ever saw (besides Aladdin which is one of my all time favs) didn’t turn out well for the wisher, only for the jinn. I asked to review this one because of the steamy cover and blurb.
No one believes Amaia Jones when she says the Mayan Doom is real because everyone has spent forever trying to prove it isn’t. Everyone is busy trying to spread cheer and her boss gets so upset with her about her insistence that he actually demotes her and assigns her an evil adept. Or at least she seems evil to me because she is extremely peppy and slightly dumb and I would probably have killed her as soon as I met her. Amaia’s parents had Venus magic which to put simply is sex magic. She want to save the world but she has no where else to turn except to Rafe but she doesn’t want to follow her parents footsteps. She is scared of how attracted she is to him
I read this book at work which I don’t recommend to anyone who is shy. I was looking over my shoulder convinced that the security guards could see what I was writing through the security feeds. It was beyond steamy. I wish I had read it at home in a bubble bath where I would not have blushed every five seconds. And it wasn’t just great sex scenes, it was just beautifully described. I loved how Mary Hughes laid out her world with a million small descriptions so I could really picture it. I like the ending and was happy with the way everything turned out. There is nothing like reading a whole book and loving it and then screaming at the book because of the ending. This was not like it, I was very content and was even smiling at work because of finishing this book up.

Love the review. I'm thinking about getting this book, the only thing stopping me is my TBR pile is already a mile high and I've exceeded my monthly book budget.
Thank you so much, Kat, for hosting today's blog tour stop! And thank you especially for the wonderful review of Black Diamond Jinn. So glad you enjoyed the book!
