I have never been to a movie on Christmas but I think I may go this year when Into the Woods releases. I have grown up on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales like most kids and I have even gotten a couple copies of the original (much darker) stories. The first place I wanted to visit when I went to Germany was the Black Forest where all these tales supposedly took place. Sadly, our German kind of sucked and we couldn’t navigate the train well enough for my husband’s grandparents to let us go alone but they said when we come back to visit that we will definitely go there for several days. I saw the preview posters for Into the Woods and thought it was super amazing to made a modern twist on old fairy tales. Check out the 10 character posters below the trailer for more awesomeness!
“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), all tied together by an original story involving a Baker and his Wife (James Corden and Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the Witch (Meryl Streep), who has put a curse on them.
