It is sad to me that I have to yell upstairs for my teenager ten times before he comes down. Or I sometimes have to call him because he will have his headphones in. Dinner time used to be different before we had a teenager in the house. Now he tries to jet off as fast as he can to talk to his girlfriend and his brother and sister want to follow. I am happy when we all get to have a peaceful meal together. So I got the chance to create a new recipe with Manwich. The Kid-Stopping Power of Manwich makes meals a messy-licious treat to be enjoyed with both hands – giving moms and dads an easy, quality ingredient to bring the family’s attention back to mealtime and away from everyday distractions. And that is exactly what we need! We love Sloppy Joes in our house but I wanted to try something new. I received a great kit from Manwich with the three great Manwich flavors: Manwich: Manwich Original, Manwich Bold and Manwich Thick & Chunky. I went with Manwich Meatball Poppers! It sounded like something my kids would like for #ManwichMonday and I have seen meatball poppers before so I thought it would be awesome to add Manwich sauce which has no meat and is just perfect for sandwiches, pastas, and my new invention! They didn’t take the best pictures but I thought that they tasted amazing.
Manwich Meatball Poppers
Ingredients
1 can of Manwich – I used Original Flavor (if you arent sure where to buy, check out Conagra’s website and store finder.
Shredded cheese – I used mozzarella & parmesan
thawed store bought meatballs
a can of pizza dough or you can make your own
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Lay out store bought pizza dough and roll it down.
Cut into circles about 2 inches.
Add a meatball, shredded cheese, and a teaspoon of Manwich to each dough circle and pinch seams together.
Roll into a ball. Place onto nonstick baking pan. (You can brush with an egg wash with a tsp of garlic powder in it for extra flavor)
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. (some store bought meatballs require longer baking times)
Serve with extra Manwich sauce for dipping. Heat it up first to make it even better.
Do not do what I did and make the circles too small. It was hard to pinch them together so I ended up having to add extra dough to mine at the top. It made them lopsided but they still tasted delicious. The kids loved them. They love anything they can dip. THere are a lot of great Manwich Monday Recipes!
