Sleep helped me to shut everything out.  I didn’t want to wake up, but sometimes I was forced to wake up by dreams that I had no idea how to fully interpret.

“What is this place?” I thought to myself.  “Am I dreaming?”

“Eddie,” said the voice, the same beautiful voice I remember before my birth.

“It’s You,” I said in excitement.  “Where have You been?”

“The darkness will come out of your hate for me.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.  “I hate Jesus.  You know, the one my mom speaks of.  The stories I hear of Him is that He saves people, but He hasn’t saved me from anything.”

“Eddie, Jesus and I are one and the same.  Love will free you, but hate will bind you to the darkness.”

“I don’t understand,” I groaned.

“Hate cannot exist in the presence of love.  Just like darkness cannot exist in the presence of light.  Those who live in love have made room for me to live within them.  Those who live in hate only have left room for darkness and what it brings.”

“Love can’t protect me from the darkness,” I muttered.

“Those who live in love will not know darkness but be given the authority to bring the light.”
