Doorstep Desserts Review and a Tasty Giveaway

So I have mentioned that I like to eat. Probably in every post. One of my favorite things to eat is anything I didn’t have to shop for. Now that I shop for so many kids (more than just my own), I have hated the grocery store. Plus I always forget stuff! I can never make my husband’s favorite pie or delicious cookies because I will go look and realize I do not have all the ingredients. Well, Doorstep Desserts changed all that! For the last few weeks I have been getting shipments of amazing desserts right to my door! I have had so much fun with these boxes. You should check them out on Facebook and Twitter to see the awesome desserts they send out.

My first box was for Chocolate Covered Strawberry Truffles! It came with the strawberry glaze, two chocolate cakes, fudge icing, and chocolate buttercream icing. I opened it up and I was like, what? How is this supposed to make truffles? But it also came with instructions and it was so easy. I just mixed the cakes together with the chocolate buttercream icing and the strawberry glaze and formed them into balls. Then I put them in the freezer to set for a bit. Then I melted the fudge icing and poured it over the balls. It was simple. Mine arent as pretty as the picture but I did have a five year old and two year old helping.

They were so delicious. I ate three of them. After eating a huge dinner so you can tell they were THAT good.

Then we got Red Velvet Cake Truffles the next week. My husband loves red velvet cake so I knew he would like it. They started out good. Same premise as before. I just mixed the cakes with the cream cheese icing and make them into balls. Then it set them in the freezer to firm up.

Then I had an issue dipping them. I wanted to just pour the icing on them but my son said we had to try to make it look like the picture.

So what do you think? Perfect right? Hahaha. I think we did well. We overdid the cake crumb garnish but again, I had a five year old do it. He had so much fun!

Last week I received the Caramel Cream Cookie Cups box.  It included all of the items needed, including:

  • Vanilla Creme Pie Filling
  • Vanilla Krunchies
  • White Buttercream Frosting
  • Caramel Icing
  • Baked Snickerdoodle Cookies
  • Piping bag and tip
  • Directions

It took longer to make than the other kits but I think my husband ate five of them. Seriously.

By now I think my family expects me to have this service forever because they watch the door like hawks waiting for my next shipment to show up. I think its a perfect gift to give someone especially if they love to create in the kitchen. Its like an easy mode for dessert.

Check out those perfect hearts I made for the Chocolate Covered Cake Heart Cake Pops I received yesterday. Perfect. And my son loved pouring the chocolate over them. He was mad I let my teenager have the first one.

  1. This looks like so much fun for a family to get and make together. Everyone looks like they can participate and give their own ideas on the project. Skills are learned here and a treat in the end is extra special.

  2. The Chocolate Overload Cookie Cups sounds great! I ‘d make some cake pops as something different from them!

  3. Of this months, the Vanilla Creme truffles is my favorite. But they have some really tasty sounding desserts!
