I am a homebody. I rarely go out because I like inviting people here. I am also a huge dork with only like two friends so it is always such a surprise when someone invites me somewhere. I mostly just sit home, write posts, and clip coupons especially the super awesome paperless coupons. I recently joined a Facebook group with other like minded moms and I adore them. I went for a mall walking event with them last week and I had a great time. Of course I did stick as close as possible to my real life friend that I asked to come with me. After that event I assumed that I would just see them online and do the monthly mall walking event. Last night I realized that I had been invited to a Mom's Night Out with that group. Me. The super shy yet strangely extroverted me. The only problem is that I go out so rarely that I have no idea where any of my makeup is. I rarely even brush my hair, just tuck it under my Chicago Blackhawks hat and go.
I had to emergency find some makeup since mine is scattered to the winds. Where though? I decided to go try out my new Walgreens App and go get my son's prescription while I was there. I love shopping at Walgreens because they have a huge selection of everything I need and their milk is SO CHEAP! They also have a great clearance aisle which my kids love because I always find them toys for a dollar. My son ended up with a toy shovel like from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and my daughter got three Disney Jr Mickey and Minnie stuffed toys. I wanted new lipstick and gloss though and I didn't want to pay a ton for it.
I have been a Balance Rewards member since Walgreens switched over to that system but I have only recently discovered the Walgreens app. I love it. It has the weekly deals right on my phone, refill prescriptions by your phone, pill reminders, shopping lists, and more. It also has Walgreens Paperless Coupons! You can clip them right from your phone anywhere and they automatically add to your Balance Rewards account. Once you check out with the products you found coupons on and add your phone number or scan your card, the coupons will deduct from your total. Or the coupons will wait in your account until they expire.
After walking up and down the aisle looking at the deals, I decided to go with some Revlon Colorstay Lipstick and some Covergirl gloss. Both great brands and they had great coupons that I had clipped. Using the Walgreens Paperless Coupons, I saved $4 on two Covergirl glosses which were BOGO 50% already so instead of paying $12 for two I paid $5. The Revlon were more expensive but there was a $2 on any one Revlon so I saved $4 on the two I bought and they were also BOGO 50% off. So I saved a ton of money on my beauty items AND got the kids some fun toys for under $20. I am totally going to use that extra money on a semi healthy snack tonight at the Mom's Night Out. Ok it wont be healthy at all but it will be fun and money saved from coupon shopping should always be used for fun in my opinion.
Lipstick, gloss, shimmer powder, hair straightener, a new toothbrush, and some mascara. And new toys for the kids so Daddy can watch them. I am totally set for tonight. I am going to be the most fun that a shy girl can be. I saved a ton of time not having to clip coupons or dig through sales papers. Now I just need to figure out something to wear and then I can spend all the money I saved by using my paperless coupons.
